| SIX POINT
FIVE is a six piece horn-driven powerhouse from
Detroit, MI, whose covers of timeless artists such as Stevie
Wonder, The Temptations, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Chicago, The
Beatles and Van Morrison will set any crowd back on their
heels and keep them dancing all night long. Front man Adam Busuttil’s powerful voice captivates the audience while the
hard-hitting rhythm section puts the groove down so hard you
can’t help but move your feet. Add some funk and soul with
Detroit’s baddest horn line and you’ve got the recipe for
SIX POINT FIVE; one of the finest bands ever to come out of
the Motor City.

Adam Busuttil (lead vocals) hails from Shelby
Township. He started playing violin at age 4, continued on
cello and piano, and settled on percussion in middle school.
He continued at Eisenhower High School and Michigan State
University, where he discovered his ability to use his
powerful voice to front the East Lansing-based rock band
Brushfire. He's currently a music teacher in the city of
Warren.
Tim Fischer (trombone,
vocals), originally from Petoskey, finished his schooling at
Central Michigan University's school of music. Influenced by
jazz from all eras, funk, and soul music, Tim is one of the
most powerful and skilled trombone players in Metro Detroit.
He and Chris Traskal comprised the horn section for the
Mount Pleasant band Professor Marvel & the 4th Quadrant.
Currently, he's a sales representative for a local music
store.
Bryan McMullen (drums)
is one of the most skilled drummers and has some of the
fastest hands in the Detroit area. The former Brushfire
drummer and product of Michigan State University's Spartan
Marching Band and competition drumline, he currently works
in Lansing and continues to teach drumlines around the
area.
John Phillips (guitar,
vocals) grew up in Romeo and studied saxophone at Central
Michigan University’s school of music. He also began playing
guitar in 1995. John's blues-driven guitar riffs help
give the band its hard-edged sound. In addition to playing
guitar as a member of Six Point Five, John has performed
professionally on saxophone in the classical and jazz genres
and has taught middle school band and high school marching
band in the city of Warren for the past seven years.
Chris Takis (bass,
vocals), born in Saginaw and raised in East Lansing, started
taking piano at age 7, percussion at age 11, and guitar at
age 13. He marched in the drumline at Michigan State
University with
Adam and Bryan and attended the school of music. The former
guitarist for Brushfire, his Alternative and Motown-inspired
bass lines solidify the band's sound. He is currently a band
director in Warren and a percussionist in the Royal Oak
Symphony Orchestra.
Chris Traskal
(saxophones, vocals), originally from Sterling Heights where
he and Bryan were classmates at Stevenson High School, is a
product of Central Michigan University's school of music and
is currently a band director in Utica. He is an avid jazz
performer and his smooth sound is defined through a wide
range of styles.
